Calle Crisologo, Vigan CityPosted by Ada on Category: Ilocos Sur, Luzon | 11 Comments |
Going to historical town of Vigan is one of my most awaited places during our road trip.

Welcome to Vigan! With my blogger friends Nikki and Hannah. Photo by Jeck Simbulan.
I have seen lots of photos of Vigan City featuring Calle Crisologo most and amazed by the unique architecture of the houses and commercial establishments here.

I am not satisfied with my composition here. It’s my first time shooting in low light situation. I hope I got it right.
Our journey starts by visiting one of the houses where the famous Vigan jars are made. Vigan jars are also called burnay.
Barrio Pagburnayan is where tourists can see how these jars are made. Continue reading »

Bangui Windmills, Ilocos NortePosted by Ada on Category: Ilocos Norte, Luzon | 8 Comments |
Bangui Windmills is one of my favorite destinations in Ilocos Norte during our roadtrip. Looking at these windmills at far made us say “WOW.” They are huge, powerful, and modern-looking. Bangui Windmills are considered to be the biggest in Southeast Asia.
It’s fascinating that Philippines has this kind of renewable energy resources. It sells 40% electricity to Ilocos Norte and is contributing to reduce the greenhouse effect which causes global warming.
Can you imagine how simple life is in Ilocos Norte? Fifty percent energy consumption of SM Megamall is the whole energy consumption in Ilocos Norte.

Each windmill has 236 meters apart on shore. These beautiful structures has 41 meters blade and the its height is roughly equivalent to a 23-storey building. Continue reading »

Oh yeah! I have been to 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites Baroque Churches of the Philippines! The first one was the Paoay Church. Two more churches woot!!
Santa Maria Church was built in 1765 under Augustinian order. The bell tower was constructed a distance away from the main church to prevent possible main church damage from earthquakes. Continue reading »
