What I do

My name is Ada. I’m a nurse by profession and one of the nurses in the country who did not practice the profession. For the past two years, I worked with my siblings as a full-time web administrator. Unfortunately, nothing is permanent. Our website has suffered great loss until it was officially shutted down.

That depressed me so much. I then decided to join social networking events and started traveling with few people whom I met through blogging which later on become my best buddies as well.  It’s really awesome to get along with people who shares the same passion like you do.

Photography tools

My first camera was Cyber Shot DSC-W100, a point-and-shoot camera from Sony. On 2008, I then decided to get Nikon D60, our first SLR camera, which I shared with my sister. Presently, I use Nikon D3100 to shoot all photos — it is not-so-surprise-gift from my boyfriend.

When it comes to post and cross-processing photos, I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I usually upload photos on my flickr account (flickr.com/photos/adaphobic).

In terms of photography accessories, I only have kit lens, 50-200 mm, ND filters, graduated filter, and vital filters like CPL and UV. I also have an SB-600 flash which I bought in Singapore last 2009. My camera bag is a Lowepro Slingshot for comfortable shooting while trekking and hiking. I’m planning to get a messenger bag soon for street photography purposes. So far, the tripod I’m using was from my dad, though I plan to buy a robust tripod for low light situation shooting soon.

Fondled

I have a wonderful boyfriend in the Navy.  We’ve known each other for more than a year now but my nose is still bleeding. He was my blog stalker and blinded by my cute photos. There is no long distance in love, it always finds a way to bring hearts together no matter how many miles are there between them.

Life alterations..

I was a bum who kept on traveling and loved every minute of it. I’m happy that I have traveled far and witnessed the paradise in different parts of the country, but I suddenly felt some guiltiness. I don’t have a job. We’re not earning anymore from our website. I kept on traveling until my savings has started to run out.

Without hesitation, I then entered corporate world. There I met a lot of strangers. Watching them talk, laugh, walk, smile, drink, smoke is really fascinating. I’m in a corporate world now. Another batch of people which soon I will befriending with.

At work

I had an irritating seatmate at the office who sneezes, yawns, and laughs a lot. I was really irritated. My customer on the phone can even hear him loud and clear. I used to clean my work station in order to prevent the virus secretions from his skin, mouth, and nose. He totally grossed me out.

He also loves hanging off his dirty feet on his work station like he was just at home. One time, I heard him talking to his customer, “Call him siraulo..” (insane)

He was teaching his American customer a Tagalog word. What a really annoying man. It was very unprofessional of him. You have no idea how thankful I was when we had a new seating arrangement done. I am enjoying my work so far, though, I know I will quit on this job sooner.

Travel and photography

There’s a lot of photography genres. I consider portraiture, black and white, and nature are my favorites; however, my skills have not excelled yet in this field.

I didn’t take any basic photography classes. I usually read camera manuals, photography magazines and websites for tips and techniques. I am also a part of Marikina Digital Photographers Club. I join them from time to time if they have street or travel shoot. I also ask questions and tips from them. That’s how I learn.

My top 3 Philippine destination so far are Palawan, Ilocos, and Davao. Calaguas Island when it comes to beach virginity. I told myself to start having microvacation (in my case, 2 days 1 night) in near provinces once my birthday has started like Quezon, Zambales, Pampanga (Mt. Pinatubo), Baguio, etc.

Mad waves silence

Though on some occasions like filing for vacation leaves, I will be more than happy to visit Sagada-Batad-Benguet, Palaui, Bohol, Bicol, Mindoro, Cebu (Bantayan, Moalboal, Malapascua), Batanes, General Santos, Zamboaga, Cagayan De Oro. Unusual places like Tawi-Tawi, Jolo, and Sulu and also some places that I would like to travel soon.

Internationally, I am opting for Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia, Brunei, Beijing, South Korea, and Japan. US, Canada, UK, South Africa, Machu Pichu, Dubai, Turkey, India, Iran and Iraq are also part of my dream. In short, around the world travel. But most of all, I will appreciate their beauty if I’m traveling with my loved one.
