Sample DIY Macau Tour from HongKong

This Macau itinerary applies for those travelers who wish to visit Macau from Hong Kong as a day trip travel. I researched this in different travel forums.

Getting around Macau

8:00 – Depart on a TurboJet.

9:00 – Arrival at Macau (Ferry Terminal). Upon arrival, make sure to get free tourist Macau maps at the Tourist Information Center. Then take a 5 to 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal to Fisherman’s Wharf.

9:30 – Fisherman’s Wharf, stroll around, take pictures.

Fisherman's Wharf, Macau

10:30 – From Fisherman’s Wharf, walk back to Ferry Terminal then ride ride a free shuttle bus going to Grand Lisboa, Hotel Liboa, or Grand Emperor Hotel. Start hotel hopping!

Grand Lisboa, Macau

11:30 – Lunch at Senado Square. A 15 to 20-minute walk from hotels. Make sure to ask directions on how to go Senado Square to English-speaking policemen scattered around.

13:00 – Stroll around Senado Square, walk and walk until you reach San Ma Lo (a street selling Beef Jerky and lots of souvenirs), then Ruins St. Paul’s Cathedral (大三巴), Monte FortMacau Museum(澳門博物館), Na Tcha Temple (left side if facing Ruins) then go down and walk to your right, Camoes Garden, St. Anthony Church. They are near to each other so start picture taking.

Heritage walking tour in Macau

15:00 – From the Camoes Garden, ride bus #17, 4th stop as you are going to Guia Hill (東望洋炮台). Then ride a cable car for MOP$3.80 round trip going to Guia Fortress and it’s Lighthouse.

16:00 – Ride bus #18 going to Macau tower. Then explore Macau Tower, if you wish to go inside, there’s an entrance fee of MOP$80.

17:00 – Ride bus #18 going to A-Ma temple (Opening hours 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

18:00 – Ride bus #21A from A-ma temple to Venetian Hotel. Spend at least 2 hours exploring Venetian Hotel.

If you still have enough time, go back to those hotels like Wynn Hotel, Grand Lisboa, etc. and have a night photo shot. You can also get some freebies like water bottles, ballpens, fans, free spins to wins a goodies, etc.

Macau Tips: Try asking some English-speaking guards or tourist on how to watch The Bubble Show (a 10-minute 4D visual adventure) for FREE at City Of Dreams. It’s an hourly show from 7:00pm – 10:00pm.

Remarks:
The above time might not be accurate. I suggest leaving the tourist spot 15 minutes earlier to allow waiting time for the bus.

Minimum time to spend for each destination:
Fisherman’s Wharf – At least 45 minutes
Guia Fortress – At least 1 hour
Leal Senado/Senado Square to Ruins of St. Paul’s Cathedral – At least 1 hour
Venetian Hotel – At least 2 hours
Wynn, Grand Lisboa, Hotel Lisboa, etc. – At least 45 minutes

Off to Macau and Hong Kong on a Very Tight Budget…

Haller my readers!

Yes guys, I’m still alive! I have lots of things to blog about! I am employed now but given that fact, I should not indulge myself too much from working! So I am going to Macau – HK tomorrow, a treat for myself together with my sister and cousins.

I challenged myself to have a trip in Macau and Hong Kong for 4 days and 3 nights on a very tight budget of P6,000. (exclusive of airfare). Will I survive?

Who says traveling is expensive? Watch out as I update this blog again!
