My Nikon D60 is 1 year 4 months old now. Last week, my D60 started showing Error: Press shutter release button again in it’s LCD. Pressing the shutter button again and again doesn’t help. I tried to figure it out the in the internet and saw many Nikon users who experienced the same problem.

Through this link, I was able to follow Steve Jackson’s advice. I let my dad open my D60 and he put a WD40 on red and white small gears. He did some test shot, it worked, but up to 5 shots only then the error appeared again. He keep figuring out the problem on my cam but he can’t see the problem.

I decided to go to Hidalgo (Quiapo) and let professional fix it. I saw Bert’s Camera Repair station and asked what’s the expected price for this kind of error, and he said P2,500 ($54). Damn, too costly. I think if I will go to Columbia (Cubao) they will charge me P5,000 or more plus I have to wait for 4-5 days. But in Bert’s station, I am allowed to wait my camera fixed for 1 hour.

After they fixed it, they let me do some test shot. I made 30-40 test shot. It is working well, though the shutter sound is bit different from before. When I went home, I did some test shot again. Since it’s evening, it’s a bit dim. I tried some test shot with flash. The result is what the heck. Even though I use flash, the shot is very dark! I tried adjusting the exposure to 2.0, still dark. I tried boosting the ISO to 800 and found out that the flash blends well with +2 exposure level and ISO 800 (if lower than that, shot is darker). From that day in my every shoot, my default exposure and ISO level is +2 to +3 and 800.

Shot from birthday. Properties: Aperture priority, focal length 22mm, f/4, 1/15 sec., ISO 800, +3 exposure, No flash. Time taken 3:02 p.m.

These 3 problems, White balance, exposure level, ISO, are depressing. I am planning to go back there to let them analyze what’s the problem. I have 2-month warranty from them therefore, they will not charge anything.

Did I make a mistake letting my D60 fixed in Hidalgo? I should have gone to Columbia. If you are professional or have any knowledge with this kind of stuff, just drop by and give me some advice.

UPDATE (May 19, 2010): I forgot to update this blog post. But my D60 is finally okay after Columbia repaired it. I paid $160 for this kind of problem and it really sucks on my part.

This problem occurred to me again when I was in Davao, I thought I will be paying another $160, but after removing the lens and attaching it back and it works again!

Are you an internet addict who spends time in front of the computer more than watching TV or movie? Would you believe that there is a certain broadband provider which offers an optimal experience with the use of internet?

I remember way back in 2002, our first internet connection was the dial-up. I just browse, Google, and download songs apparently at 3 to 5 kbps, lol! See how slow connection we had back then! Until YouTube, online games, social networking sites, and download sites emerged in 2006. I guess you have already seen this Panda Piano Musical PLDT Commercial in TV or YouTube.

When you say broadband or DSL connection, PLDT MyDSL would be the first thing that would pop-up in your mind. PLDT MyDSL is already a distinguished brand which offers internet service since the internet boom in the market. From the video shown above, I think the character that would best depict me as a power internet user is the girl in WoW costume. Since I am an online gamer too, I consume a lot of bandwidth which needs a very fast internet connection. Plus, I download stuff, watch videos while downloading, and play games while streaming videos. It’s very twisted, yet only a broadband connection can do it.

I think switching to PLDT MyDSL Watchpad is a good decision compared to my current plan. Both are 2MBPS but PLDT is P500 cheaper (Plan 1999 2MBPS + 20 free cable channels), I like the idea of integrating DSL with 20 free cable channels. So instead of installing a separate cable, I chose to install PLDT MyDSL Watchpad (Landline + Unlimited DSL + Watchpad). Take note that Watchpad is free when you’re a PLDT myDSL Subscriber.

Now, I can watch my favorite channels like E!, Crime Investigation, and National Geographic. I can even watch the upcoming Manny Pacquiao fight live without paying additional charges! I can do multitasking, connecting with my friends through Facebook, maintain my Restaurant City, upload photos faster etc. I can do all these with PLDT MyDSL and Watchpad. From the video, it ends in social gathering of different characters in one wave. I think this commercial simply tells that only broadband can do a multitasking experience using the internet. It’s amazing! What’s your internet story?

I’d like to share something techy. I just feel like blogging about it and this is definitely not a promotional post. This is just something interesting I want to share.

My day would be incomplete without hearing my favorite music. As much as I want to hear it alone using headphone, sharing my music with my friends would be awesome.

I bought this X-Mini Max Twin capsule speakers 4 months from a Pinoy ebay powerseller. It is portable, very light, and pocket size from the look itself so I did not hesitate to order one.

It costs P1,499 only the time when I bought it. I checked out the item again and it’s now P1,599. I also checked their website at xm-i.com and it costs about $55 or more than P2,500. Wow, nakamura ako. That’s why I prefer buying in ebay because of cheap price compared to SRP (mall price). Take note, this is brand new.

What I like about my X-mini Max Twin capsule speaker is, it is very small and portable but superior sound quality. It really looks cute and high end. The speaker is expandable looking like a hamburger which enhances sound quality. This feature is called Bass Xpansion System™ (BXS™) which I really like about.

I can bring my X-Mini Max Twin capsule speaker anywhere in partner with my iPod. Battery life is up to 10 hours and rechargeable via PC or Laptop (USB). Feel free to comment if you have questions.

You are going to buy an MP3 Player, which would you consider: The music quality or the trendy look? I often see people in jeepney, LRT/MRT, streets, malls with earphones. Obviously, listening to music with their MP3 hiding at their pocket, bra, or bag.

Children listening to GoGear MP3 player and mesmerized!

Answering the previous question, since it’s always inside my pocket, I would consider an MP3 with superior sound quality, rather buying a trendy one with sound isn’t that great.

Philips invited bloggers to experience the superior sound quality of GoGear MP3 players, a new sensation MP3 from Philips. They conducted games and raffle prizes, and I got a Philips earphone!

According to Pinoy Popcast, listening to GoGear MP3 Player is one a kind sensation, you’ll feel the freedom thus reducing external noises. The Philips GoGear MP3 Player is a tough choice to beat!

GoGear Opus

With FullSound™ and premium headphones. Enjoyed unrivaled sound on the Philips GoGear Opus portable AV player featuring FullSound™. Prepare to be entertained on the go – download online videos and then view them on the cool 2.8” QVGA color screen.

I got 4 Red Mobile SIM last year, and it’s for free if you sign up from their website Loadmomma. It’s a bit disappointment for me because it’s not compatible with my Nokia 2600 Classic Phone. Good to hear that lately, Red Mobile expands their service and is now available with 2G Phones!

Red Mobile now opens its network to 2G phones with Lowest Call Rate of P 0.50

Red Mobile is powered by 8, 477 cellsites in the country, this means that Red Mobile is guaranteed clear connection and strong signal which is better than unlimited mobile network services.

With it’s cheapest/lowest call rates of 0.50 centavos call per minute and 0.50 centavos SMS Red-to-Red, you enjoy the clear coverage between you and your loved ones!

My friend in Ifugao recently told me that Red Mobile has a strong signal than other mobile network. She now enjoys Red Mobile more than her old mobile network, which is the reason why I have to reinsert back my free Red Mobile SIM with my phone and get connected with my friend in far away land. Thanks to Red!

Red Mobile also stands out in terms of TV Advertisement. They have three version and all of them are fantastically hilarious.
