Hundred Islands National Park, Alaminos City

Posted by Ada on Category: Luzon, Pangasinan | 17 Comments

I thought Hundred Islands doesn’t really have 100 islands since it looks like there are only 50 to 60 islands, but counting from top, there are almost 124 islands and islets (124 high tide and 123 during low tide). Of course we didn’t count it from top, it’s according to the Department of Tourism of Alaminos.

Tower going to Hundred Islands

How to get to Hundred Islands. From Manila, ride a public bus lines namely Victory Liner and Five Star bound to Alaminos. Travel time is 5 to 6 hours. If you’re from Baguio, Dagupan, Subic, Tarlac, or Zambales, just took the bus bound to Alaminos. Upon arrival to Alaminos terminal, ride a tricycle to bring you to Lucap Wharf which is 10 to 15 minutes away. When you get to the wharf, find Hundred Islands National Park Center staff to assist you regarding renting boat, activities, and other information you’ll need for your adventure!

Island Hopping. We landed first on Governor’s Island where the said Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition took place during Kim and Gerald season. The Governor’s island is the only island which will give you a breathtaking overlooking view from top of some islands and islets. This is the only perfect spot for photo op.

Breathtaking view from Governor’s island.

After the photo op, we attempted to walk from the Governor’s to the Virgin Island. I can’t remember what did our tour guide say why it was called Virgin. Virgin island is where the sea snakes are most abundant but we didn’t see one while we’re trying to get there.

Next island stop is the Shell island. I have no idea why this island was called Shell, I didn’t see any shell on this island, but I guess it’s because of its enclosed shape appearance.

Leisure Activities. Snorkeling, spelunking, fun-fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, kayaking, diving, banana boat ride, are the activities which they offer. We hopped in there and rented their kayak boat and snorkeling gears.

Kayaking at Hundred Islands

Most of us are first timers in kayaking so the instructor didn’t let a girl-and-girl partner in our case, and I went up being partnered with the expressionless but kind-hearted Marky. I feel like having muscles during the kayak experience, and feel na feel ko talaga ang pagsagwan, Oh YEAH! Good thing my partner managed to kayak alone since I always rest my arms.

They introduced us the cave inside the, I forgot what island it was but I will update this lol. The cave is beautiful but unfortunately none of us has underwater camera when we went there.

Quezon Island, Hundred Islands

The sunset. Sunset shot is always present in beach experience. There are places where sunset sucks, but sunset is perfect here at Quezon Island as we’re facing the South China Sea.

Hundred Islands, Alaminos City, Pangasinan

It’s hard to leave the place where you had soo much fun. Our bond got stronger during this experience. We had lunch together, kayaked together, snorkeled together, and jumped forever.

In the meantime, I have to have breakfast first so I will update this for more information about Hundred Islands.

wow! I’ve never been to Hundred Islands before. But your post makes me wanna visit the place. According to some of my pangasinense’s friends, medyo polluted na daw kasi and itchy na mag dip. But your pics tells me otherwise.

    Love it!

Hi Kura!! When we went there, it isn’t polluted. The polluted thing is only a gossip made by the Mayor, but according to DENR and DOT, Hundred Islands isn’t polluted. We witness the its beauty and I can say it made us amazed.

Thanks for dropping by at my blog :D Love your blog by the way!
