Santa Maria Church, Ilocos SurPosted by Ada on Category: Ilocos Sur, Luzon | 4 Comments |
Santa Maria Church or La Asuncion de la Ñuestra Señora Church is one of the 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites Baroque Churches of the Philippines.
Oh yeah! I have been to 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites Baroque Churches of the Philippines! The first one was the Paoay Church. Two more churches woot!!
Santa Maria Church was built in 1765 under Augustinian order. The bell tower was constructed a distance away from the main church to prevent possible main church damage from earthquakes.

We only got to drop by at this church on our way to Baguio, but we were really fascinated by the facade of the church even though for a minute. The red structure of the church makes me more drools to see what’s inside but the church is closed when we went there.
I can’t believe that I have gone to 2 of the 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites Baroque Churches of the Philippines! I am really thankful that Vaseline let us experience this wonderful road trip.
