Photo Essay: Life is like surfing..

When I first engaged with my surf coach, the paddle board, and the waves, I have learned that life is just like surfing.

It was cherry blossoms season and Ueno Park was jam-packed with tourists and locals when I spotted this cute chubby cheek baby while walking around.

The Historical Vigan Heritage Village

The village was established in the 16th century when trade and community activity started to flourish and is considered the best-preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia. [1]

Calle Crisologo at Vigan Heritage Village

The Vigan Heritage Village mostly covers two streets: Plaridel Street and Mena Crisologo Street. Mena Crisologo is also known as Calle Crisologo, where I chose to wander and take night photographs.

It is also listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since December 2, 1999 for its cobble-stoned streets and unique Spanish Era ancestral houses which are well preserved since 18th century. Read more…

Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, fresh and standing still

Cape Bolinao Lighthouse is the one of the youngest lighthouses I’ve seen. It was built in 1900s by the Americans yet tough and firm.

Bolinao Lighthouse

The lighthouse was also featured in Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez’ film few years ago entitled, “The Promise,” where the two had an intense love making scene.

Adjacent to the lighthouse, you shouldn’t miss going to the viewing deck overlooking the stunning view of the immense South China Sea. Bolinao Lighthouse is also a very nice venue for engagement photo shoots and wedding photography. Read more…

Bangui Windmills, Ilocos Norte

Bangui Windmills was one of my favorite destinations in Ilocos Norte during our road trip. Booking a hotel here is easy with Agoda, Ilocos.

Bangui Windmills are considered to be the biggest in Southeast Asia. It’s fascinating that Philippines has this kind of renewable energy resources.

I hope our government should provide more renewable energy in different parts of the country and reduce the frightening greenhouse effect which causes global warming.

Bangui Windmills

Huge right? We are lucky to see these 20 beautiful windmills in Bangui, Ilocos Norte. We can’t explain the feeling when we first saw these windmills. We just expressed it by jumping for joy and appreciating the scenery.

We went here in Bangui during our 3rd day in road trip. Added to the fun is that this is an all-expense-paid road trip from Vaseline. We really enjoyed our stay in Bangui Windmills. My friends Hannah and Nikki shared that they really love this project started by the Marcoses.
