As opposed to what locals said it is only a paradox and guessed that people who have said that haven’t been to New York — it is actually the most amazing city in the world.
Meanwhile, I have a friend living in New York and at the same time studied photography. She shared that studying English in New York gave her a lot of opportunity and even took TEFL after completing the course.
Now, she’s traveling around the world teaching English and believed that New York helped her a lot in achieving her dream. She mentioned that you will learn really fast as you will be immersed into their culture everyday, most especially the fabulous night life which is a great way to meet locals and make friends.
She has been there for 3 months and I did a little interview of what are the recommended things to do for travelers wishing to add New York in their bucket list aside from the famous Status of Liberty and Empire State Building. She also added that even though they are overrated, visiting these places are still worth every elbow bump.

Museum of the Moving Image. Located in Astoria New York, this is a perfect introduction to travelers to gain more public understanding and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media which focuses mainly about New York and the rest of the United States. Other Museums that worth visiting are the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.

Times Square. It is the symbol of New York and has become the world icon. This is the place where most people gather and pass by everyday. New York Times Tower, 1 Times Square, Times Square Tower, and the Bank of America Tower are the famous building there.

The Central Park. It is the most visited park in America with 21 playgrounds and zoo making it a popular spot for parents to bring their children.
